In certain respects, Through the Gates of Gold may be regarded as a commentary on Light on the Path. The listener would do well to bear this in mind. Many things in that book will be made clear by the listening of this one, and one will be constantly reminded of that work, which has already become classic literature. Through the Gates of Gold is a work to be kept constantly at hand for reference and study. It will surely rank as one of the standard books of theosophy.

The author’s excuse for putting out this companion volume, The Miracle of Right Thought, is the hope of arousing the listener to discover the wonderful forces in the Great Within of themselves which, if they could unlock and utilize, would lift them out of the region of anxiety and worry, eliminate most, if not all, of the discords and frictions of life, and enable them to make of themselves everything they ever imagined they could and longed to become.

I did not, of course, get Apauk’s story of his life in the sequence in which it is here laid down. On consecutive evenings he would relate incidents far apart in time, and only by later questionings would I be able to fill in the gaps. But at last I got together the whole of it, to my own satisfaction, and I hope the listener may get as much pleasure from the story as I did in the hearing of it.
