Death. The Big Sleep. The Dirt Nap. Le Petit Filous. What Shakespeare called ‘The Final Macarena’. Whatever you call it, it comes for us all in the end. But Captain Space Hardcore has spent his whole life of galactic adventuring not dying and he’s not about to break that streak, even when a species of highly evolved, omnipotent extra-dimensional reptiles sentences him to death. No, he’s got worse things to worry about than a little case of mortality and the promise of doom from some godlike toads that want to see him croak.

On the trail of a mind-melting futuristic drug, the Captain stumbles upon an ancient cult dead-set on raising The Beast from his slumber and feeding him a few thousand civilizations for breakfast. The devil’s back in town and there’s only one man and four solid knuckles in his way.

What is time? Why is time? How is time? When is time? Also, what is time? Important questions one and all, but for Captain Space Hardcore—intergalactic adventurer, full-time hero, raconteur, accomplished oboist—there is a more pressing question: how do you fight a time travelling madman who wants to end your life? How does one fight a man who can bend time as easily as a chimpanzee bends a hose (i.e., quite easily)? How can you stop a man who can transport back to find you as an infant, then fire you into the sun? How to best a villain who can wipe out your great grandfather?
