Bree was the type of woman who relished in the joy of her existence. She was always outside, she surfed, painted, and helped out at local charities. She had a ton of friends, and she was in a serious relationship. Until her life came to an abrupt halt.

After a bad breakup, she was in a car accident, and she lost her sight through blunt force trauma to her face. She should have counted her blessings, she knew that. She could have lost her life. But suddenly, everything is drenched in black. She knows the beauty of the world is out there, but she can't reach it. And now she hates her life, no matter how hard her friends and her father are trying to help her live again.

When her father hires a caregiver to look after her, Bree is furious. She needs her sight back, not a babysitter. And damned if she's not going to spend every minute resenting it all and hating her life.
