After the attack on Zynon, our beloved group is on the run. They all know that Byron will kill them the moment he finds them. With nowhere to hide, as Byron has spies everywhere, Gabe has decided to come out and tell everyone the truth of who he is—the son of the Silurian monarch.

Cor, Ellie, Zach, and Gabe thought they were in the clear, but their bad luck said otherwise. As soon as they stepped foot on land, the four were arrested for a new crime they didn’t commit, and there was only one person who would have the resources to turn another town against them.

After having been attacked by Gabe's father, the group has decided to go into hiding in the mountains. Although it is still summer, the mountains are cold, isolated, and dangerous. They feel it is still the safest place to be—that is, until they find other people hiding in the region. Who are these people and are they friends or foes?

After thinking they had finally found peace, the group finds themselves in the midst of chaos. Having to break Gabe out of prison, Ellie and Zach have to turn their backs on their people once more. Deciding they have to end this all for once, the three of them set out to destroy Gabe's father once and for all.
