Dark New World

Three people from different walks of life each experience the end of America. Cassy is a 33-year-old prepper and single mother, away on business. Ethan is a hacker and conspiracy nut living underground. Frank is a family man out camping with friends and family. When a devastating EMP attack in the middle of the night destroys America's infrastructure, they are propelled on an unforgettable journey across an ocean of chaos to reach safety...Safety from an unknown invader and from once-fellow Americans now hungry and desperate.

Cassy has joined with Frank and his group, and the group members declare themselves a clan, pitting themselves as a group against the rising tide of darkness around them. Then the death of one of their own creates new tensions that may tear the clan apart before it ever reaches the promised oasis of Cassy's homestead farm. Worse, they are followed by a man bent on their destruction, who would take her farm for his own group if he can find it.

Cassy and her clan have made it alive to the promised oasis of her farm and prepare for the upcoming winter. But old enemies race to catch up to them and have a different plan in mind. Meanwhile, resistance cells in New York face long odds, including betrayal from within and a tightening gauntlet from the invaders and their quislings. The 20s hint at a plot to level the playing field against the invaders, but their end-game is unclear.

The Clan is reborn amidst pain and blood, scarred but stronger than ever, only to find that new threats face them from all sides. New friends also make their appearance, however, and Cassy must forge these into the beginnings of a greater alliance to have any chance of keeping their newfound freedom. The Clan must hurry because the looming Empire to the west may well be the least of their worries as the Dying Time continues all around them.

The invaders have been repelled for now, but Cassy's problems are far from over. Her nascent body of allies, the Confederation, may have a traitor among them. With the Empire coming from the west to "liberate" survivors and land alike, the timing couldn't be worse. And while General Taggart has promised more aid, he has his hands full with a 'vader enemy of his own. Will he liberate New Jersey in time to help the besieged Clan and her allies?

As Cassy and her Clan celebrate their freedom and the Empire's defeat, Ethan - aka Dark Ryder - receives a message from his secret masters that forces him to choose between his own life and the fate of the Clan. Meanwhile, as their enemies loom in the shadows unseen, a new threat arrives from far to the west - the Empire's master launches a new proxy war against the Confederation.

Frank is leading a force toward the invaders’ northern HQ when he learns a vital piece of intel that sends the entire Confederation down a path of chaos and destruction. Taggart must make one last ditch effort to defend the Green Zone from being overrun by the invaders. With New America’s leadership floundering, the fate of their future rests on his shoulders.
