Season of the Dragon Series

The end of life as we knew it didn’t come with a nuclear blast. It didn’t come with the deadly impact of a hurdling asteroid. No. It came in a wave of illness that swept the world with fear, and in our quarantined silence, the monsters awoke. Leviathans, serpent kings, and dragons came forth from the bowels of the Earth. The season of the dragon began with fire and fury, and ended with a new world order. One in which these giant terrorists held all the power.

The end of life as we knew it didn’t come with a nuclear blast of light. It didn’t come with the deadly impact of a hurdling asteroid. No. It came in a wave of illness that swept the world with fear. With all the humans in quarantine, quiet settled over the planet for months. Beasts hidden away for millennia ventured out of their buried caverns to investigate the sudden stillness.

When the monsters broke their deal for humanity’s surrender, the last dragon saved me from certain death. Unfortunately, Mikhail St. Clare played me like a professional grifter, making me think he was on our side, and not aligned with the Serpent King, who wants to stomp out humans like we were pesky insects.

The only thing we seem to agree on is our desire to annihilate the leviathans and unseat the Serpent King. Our personal futures depend on ridding the earth of these murderous overlords who have been hunting us since I escaped and Mikhail betrayed them. We thought the monsters were our most deadly hurdle. But building a bomb large enough to wipe out an entire species is tricky. One wrong move and we could destroy everyone living in New York instead.
