Comici spaventati guerrieri è una "recherche" metropolitana che si dilata coralmente come un blues ritmando spostamenti e appostamenti, separazioni e incontri, agguati e fughe, colpi di kung-fu e spari, amori improvvisi e improvvise amicizie, dialoghi, monologhi, visioni e sogni. Sulle sue note ilari aleggia l'atmosfera acre della città e l'infinita distanza tra "centro" e "periferia". Giacché questo è un romanzo in cui il riso ricade sul cinismo, la corruzione squallida e dorata, la stupidità di questi anni che qualcuno ha definito e qualcuno ha voluto bui.

Charles Vas, il protagonista di "Mondo parallelo" è un tipo alquanto bizzarro e molto sognatore che vede la propria vita cambiare di colpo senza quasi rendersene conto. Per caso si ritrova coinvolto in una missione che lo porterà a varcare il confine tra realtà e fantasia alla ricerca di una misteriosa scatola magica catapultando l'ascoltatore in una nuova visione del mondo e della sua concezione. Lungo il suo percorso incontrerà personaggi reali e irreali che lo condurranno a scoprire il suo destino ma è davvero lui il prescelto?

Dopo più di vent'anni il mitico Bar Sport e i suoi magnifici eroi hanno subito le trasformazioni del tempo: la proverbiale pasta Luisona è scomparsa, nel Bar Veramente Fico adesso espongono brioche invisibili a occhio nudo; tra gli avventori nessuno ha più una colorazione naturale, e si possono ammirare le abbronzature color albicocca o vitel tonné maschili piuttosto che i color biscotto dei fard e dei Caraibi femminili; nuovi elementi, tra cui spiccano i tristemente noti cellularisti, abilissimi nel rispondere al trillo nelle situazioni più impervie.

Prendete la pancia di un uomo, Roversi. Aggiungete una moglie, un lavoro e novantasei chili di abitudini. Ora siate rudi: togliete la moglie, il lavoro e le abitudini. I novantasei chili, invece, chiudeteli a chiave nel bagno delle donne del cinema Corallo. Deciso a non uscire più, Roversi si troverà a riflettere. In fuga dal suo mondo, sarà il resto del mondo a venirlo a cercare: venditori porta a porta, preti, maniaci, idraulici, travestiti, cani, fotografi, psicanalisti, fabbri, cultori di film western. E donne, naturalmente.

Villaggio Tognazzi, Torvaianica, sul litorale romano. Alfreda, un'accumulatrice seriale con i primi segni di demenza senile, ha reso il suo villino un tugurio invivibile, dove vive per inerzia tra insetti e cianfrusaglie. Sopra di lei abita il figlio Marco, un giovane fattone, profondamente insicuro, la cui unica occupazione è accudire la madre. Lo spettro di un'azione da parte dell'Ufficio d'igiene rende necessario svuotare in fretta la casa, pena lo sfratto. Alcuni sgangherati amici, assidui frequentatori del bar Vanda, si attivano per sgomberarla, ma la proprietaria si oppone.
