Noses come in all kinds of shapes and sizes that are just right for its particular animal host. Not only do most animals use their noses to breathe, but for many animals, the sense of smell helps them find food, a mate, or even to know when danger is near! Following Animal Tails, Animal Eyes, Animal Mouths (NSTA/CBC Outstanding Trade Science Award), and Animal Legs, Mary Holland continues her photographic Animal Anatomy and Adaptations series by exploring many different animal noses and how those noses help the animals survive in their habitats.

These Animal Games were inspired by the Animal Cards that were originally created for the Animal Insights book. This book features a unique way to get insights about yourself and to learn about what you can gain from the qualities of a particular animal. The idea is to think about your associations with that animal and how that can apply them to yourself. These same cards can also be used to play a series of fun games. Since there are 144 cards, which can easily be combined in various ways to play a variety of classic and new games, such as Animal Poker, Animal Tales, and more.

The sense of sight helps an animal stay safe from predators, find food and shelter, defend its territory, and care for its young. We can tell a lot about an animal from its eyes: whether it is predator or prey, whether it is more active during the day or night, and sometimes even its gender or age. Award-winning nature photographer and environmental educator Mary Holland shares fascinating animal eyes with listeners of all ages.

Like humans, animals can get sick or hurt. People visit doctors. Pets see veterinarians. What happens to wild animals when they are injured, become ill, or are orphaned?
