Meet Andy Warner, a recently deceased everyman and newly minted zombie. Resented by his parents, abandoned by his friends, and reviled by a society that no longer considers him human, Andy is having a bit of trouble adjusting to his new existence. But all that changes when he goes to an Undead Anonymous meeting and finds a kindred soul in Rita, an impossibly sexy recent suicide with a taste for the formaldehyde in cosmetic products.

The outbreak began in February. Nations went to war. Governments collapsed. Billions died in the chaos and anarchy that followed. Billions more were infected. They died. They came back. It is now October. Out of the tens of millions who lived in southern England, only 90 people remain. They sought sanctuary behind the ancient walls of the Tower of London, but it was only a temporary refuge. There is no more food to be scavenged from the ruins of the old world. Their water supply is polluted.

A mysterious virus emerges after a meteor lands near a remote village in Peru. Authorities brought in to investigate discover the horrific virus not only kills, but it reanimates its victims, turning them into the walking dead. In spite of the government believing they have contained the outbreak, samples of the contagion are brought to the United States via infected military and other victims. The virus breaks boundaries and the infection spreads initiating the ground invasion of the War against the Undead.

A castle can be made safe from the undead, but not from the people inside the walls. It is seven months since the outbreak. In the anarchy and chaos that came with the undead, civilization was destroyed. In the wars that followed, the planet was nearly ruined. Billions died. Only a few thousand survived.

In less than a day, everything they’ve ever known vanished and the world fell into chaos. Uncertain where to turn and who to trust in this strange new world, they must band together in an attempt to survive. However, they slowly begin to realize it’s not only the crumbling earth and treacherous people around them that are a threat, but also something unseen and even more lethal.

That won't sit for Tony. With his mother's permission he moves in with Nana for the summer.

But when the thawing permafrost outside a village reveals the burial ground of a 19th-century whaling crew, Jen and her father fail to heed the warning of village elders and begin removing bodies for study. As the bodies thaw, they begin to move. To rise. To feed.

Aboard the Talbot Yacht, twenty party goers suddenly fall unconscious at the same time. Placed into quarantine, it is soon believed their incident was caused by a gas leak and they are released. It is much more. Epidemiologist Mark Reign knows it was more than a carbon monoxide incident, but he can't prove it. Other than his gut instinct he has nothing to prove it and releases the people from quarantine. Mark soon finds out that the Talbot is not the only incident. Similar events over the course of a few days happen globally.

Some have been in the cursed house for years, their minds warped into insanity by the fear and pain. Curt is new and can't understand why no one speaks and why the only sounds come from the night. He wonders what it is that comes out of the basement when the sun goes down.

A pyramid predating all known cultures appears without warning. Its discovery throws into question everything we know about the origins of mankind. Inside lies incredible technology, proof of a culture far more advanced than our own. Something dark lurks within, eager to resume a war as old as mankind. When it is unleashed, it heralds the end of our species' reign.

Six months have passed since the chaos in Woodhaven, and though Jack Jupiter escaped, he couldn't stop the virus from ravaging the globe, nor could he stop the billions from turning into undead creatures that feast upon the living. Three weeks after the outbreak, most nations have collapsed. An ever-increasing number of refugees flee, by boat and air, to the perceived safety of the remote Pacific nations. In Australia, every able body is conscripted, local and newcomer alike. The lucky few are put to work in the new factories, farms, and mines. The unlucky many are given tools for weapons, put aboard cruise-ships and cargo freighters, and returned to the ever-moving frontline. But even though the death toll rises, victory is still within reach.

A plague has been released in Austin. It’s highly infectious, incredibly lethal, and turns the recently deceased into fast moving zombies with a taste for human flesh. Rookie officer Lacy Sparks is thrust into the action when she is assigned to a federal strike force tasked with preventing the outbreak from becoming a full blown pandemic. It’s a race against the clock as she and her team struggles to survive against the growing forces of the undead.

Anglesey has become home to nearly ten thousand survivors from across the Atlantic. While there is still danger from the undead on the mainland, there is hope. Hope that the zombies might die, hope that the electricity supply might be restored, and hope that more survivors will be found. Hope is not enough. Sergeant Branofski and Chester Carson venture into northern Wales to set up a network of safe houses that will provide a route to Anglesey for those still trapped in the wasteland. Though they find survivors, they discover something far worse.

In a post-apocalyptic future, flora and fauna have mutated into new and dangerous forms, and humans have split into two species during the time of the black sky. A stronger, survival-driven hominid now dominates the wilds. Man is now the hunted. Man is now the prey.
