Travel Tales Collections, Food & Drink, No. 7, February 2015, is part of Michael Brein's Travel Tales Collections series. It contains some of the best stories from Michael's huge collection of travel tales that he has gathered in interviews with nearly 1,750 world travelers and adventurers during his four decades of travel to more than 125 countries throughout the world.

It started as a simple journal exercise. Tom Sullivan wanted to list his top 10 favorite hunting, fishing, and climbing trips. Once completed, however, he noted something he found quite interesting. The majority of the excursions he noted didn't result in a harvest of fin or fur, nor did they remind him of any found and conquered summit. Instead, he had selected past trips where something remarkable had occurred and valuable lessons had been learned. This became the inspiration for his first collection of adventure essays.

My Gift of Now is a collection of memoirs and essays about tragic family loss through two plane crashes; finding love and marriage in middle age; travel and laughter; and issues of living the author sees as she looks around her.
