The Aldens are going on a trip to the Arizona desert. There they learn about the legend of the Lost Dutchman Mine. Everyone thinks the mine is filled with gold. Can the Boxcar Children find out if the legend is true - and if it is, who will find the gold?

The Boxcar Children have a chance to be in a real play - The Wizard of Oz! Jessie is chosen for the Cowardly Lion. Benny will play a munchkin. Even Watch has a part and all the Aldens are helping with the show. Then mysterious things begin to happen. Someone makes a threatening phone call and a costume is destroyed. Maybe the show won’t go on - unless the Boxcar Children can solve the mystery before opening night!

When the Aldens hear that Mr. Wood's cat Spotzie is missing, they immediately help out by putting up "LOST CAT" posters and going door-to-door with a photograph of the cat. But along the way, they meet some strange characters, receive frightening phone calls, and even find a cat that looks just like Spotzie - but is it? It seems that the more they search, the more mysterious the mystery becomes!

The Alden children are staying at the home of a famous inventor known for her one-of-a-kind clocks. The clocks sound loudly at every hour, especially at midnight! But the clocks aren’t the only noise. Is the house haunted by the ghost of the inventor? The Aldens are determined to find out!

Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny are going to visit a castle! Built long ago, the castle is now being turned into a museum. As the Boxcar Children help to restore it, they see mysterious lights and hear strange music. Faces appear in windows—and then disappear. The Aldens are so excited when they get to meet other ballonists, learn how hot air balloons work, and even help the crew launch a balloon. Then, things start to go wrong. Someone is trying to ruin the rally, and the Boxcar Children might not get the chance to ride in a hot air balloon after all - unless they solve the mystery in time.

The Boxcar Children are going to a dog show. They meet all kinds of dogs, from a spotted Dalmatian to a big, hairy sheepdog. But then strange things start happening at the dog show, and no one knows why. Can the children solve the mystery and save the day?

Jack and Charlie Davis, along with a new companion, Jimmy Ardana, are part of the Allied effort to stop the Japanese at Port Moresby in May 1942. But the Allies have received little in the way of reinforcements, and the only fighter available to face the Japanese Zero is the difficult to handle Bell P-39. Charlie flies dangerous reconnaissance missions to determine the location of the Japanese Navy. Jack, supposedly on his way home to the States, is diverted to be a flight commander in the 8th Fighter Group at Port Moresby.

The Aldens can't believe that Greenfield's town council wants to demolish the historic firehouse that has stood for more than a hundred years. So they decide to try to fix up the building, which houses some valuable firefighting antiques. But someone keeps trying to sabotage their attempts. The Boxcar Children must find out who it is!

While vacationing in an old New England town, the Aldens learn of a ship that was lost at sea years ago.

Aunt Jane takes the Aldens to stay with her friend, Kay, who owns an old, shabby motel in Florida. Kay is ready to sell the motel, when the children offer to help fix it up and put it back in business. But they soon learn that someone is trying to make sure it stays out of business—forever.

The Aldens are going to visit their cousins Joe and Alice. To the children’s delight, Joe and Alice live near a wonderful amusement park. The park holds everything the Boxcar Children could ask for—a beautiful merry-go-round, lots of rides and games, all the cotton candy they can eat—and a mystery!

The Boxcar Children are going to college! That is, they are going to Mountvale College to help Grandfather at a convention of young astronomers. The Aldens learn many interesting things, and get to look at the stars and planets through a telescope at the observatory. But then some valuable information disappears - along with one of the students at the convention. What's going on? It's another mystery for the Boxcar Children!

The Aldens love exploring the many hiking trails around Yellowstone, especially Lost Cabin Trail. But suddenly the trail is closed because of bear activity, and then the map disappears! Could someone be trying to keep the Aldens away from the trail? It's a mystery - and the Boxcar Children are going to solve it!
