Der erbitterte Kampf zwischen dem DonnerClan und dem SchattenClan ist vorbei, aber die Katzen stehen immer noch unter Schock. Während das Misstrauen zwischen den Clans immer mehr zunimmt, ahnen Häherfeder, Löwenglut und Taubenpfote die vernichtenden Pläne der finsteren Krieger. Doch die DonnerClan-Katzen müssen schmerzlich erkennen, dass sie noch weit davon entfernt sind, einen möglichen Kampf gegen den Wald der Finsternis zu gewinnen.

Als Blattsee in ihrer Verzweiflung schließlich eine Entscheidung trifft, ahnt sie nicht, dass sie damit das Leben ihres ganzen Clans auf Spiel setzt.

A cat and a mouse, contrary to the custom of their kinds, become friends, such good friends that they decide to share a home. That they might have something to fall back on in time of need, they buy a pot of fat and hide it away in a nook of a church for safekeeping. After a short time, the cat tells her housemate that one of her relations has given birth and that the mouse's friend has been asked to be godmother. Instead of going to a christening, though, the cat goes to the nook of the church and eats the top layer of the fat in the pot.

"The Boy Who Drew Cats" is a Japanese folk tale collected by Lafcadio Hearn in Japanese Fairy Tales. This is his most anthologized story. It concerns a boy who drew cats everywhere. Everyone in the town thought this was a waste of time until a goblin invaded their temple. They boy, and his cat, then come to the rescue.

Actress Emma Thompson narrates this story, which is based on an 18th-century French fairy tale. In this magically romantic book, a young prince befriends an enchanted cat-queen.
