When Lucy Berberian quits her Philadelphia law firm and heads home to Ocean Crest, she knows what she's getting - the scent of funnel cake, the sight of the wooden roller coaster, and the tastes of her family's Mediterranean restaurant. Lucy could do without Heather Banks, though. The Gucci-toting ex-cheerleader is still as nasty as she was back in high school...and she's just taken over as the local health inspector. Just minutes after eating at the Kebab Kitchen - where she's tallied up a whole list of bogus violations - she falls down dead in the street.

Food truck entrepreneur and blooming amateur sleuth Billie Halifax is excited that Sea Glass Island is hosting the annual late fall bridal convention. She has big plans to proudly display her new bakery truck at the event, hoping to gain gaggles of new customers. Her excitement wanes, however, when she discovers a woman's body on the beach. Sensing something suspicious, Billie dives into investigating and comes to the quick conclusion that not everyone on the island is there for a good reason.

Billie Halifax is not only new to Sea Glass Island, Florida, but also to the food truck business. After her late grandmother left her a non-functional fleet, Billie packed up and headed out on a new adventure, ready for anything. Or so she thought . . . Her first task is to find a manager for the initial truck, so she narrows it down to three potential candidates from a local culinary school. They'll show off their skills and she'll pick the best of the best for her first truck, Taco the Town. Billie's off to a bit of a rocky start.
