I know this sounds a bit cliche, but life truly is a journey. It evidences as a unique sojourn for every individual person. This is the story of a child born seventy years ago. It is a story of triumph and setbacks, of joy and sorrow, of weakness and strength. But most of all, it is a story of courage. Brian J. Woznicki was born with cerebral palsy. He was dealt a very difficult hand in life.

This compelling memoir traces an extraordinary journey through mental illness and neurodiversity—one of hard-won insight, resilience, and wisdom. Living with bipolar disorder, depression, addiction, and dyslexia, the author’s path weaves through punk rock rebellion, police work, and entrepreneurship—revealing the complex reality of managing mental health and neurodiversity. Another deep depressive episode became the catalyst for a medical diagnosis, professional help, and true healing.

I am a South Californian gentleman living with disabilities—I was diagnosed with both cerebral palsy and scoliosis as a toddler. I am a writer who uses an augmentative alternative communication (AAC) device to speak. I wrote this sequel so that I could share more of my life with you, chronicling events from shortly after my high school graduation in 1991 all the way up to my 40th birthday in 2010.
