English Language History

Idioms and expressions are a part of everyday English, but they aren't always the easiest to figure out. Many of these phrases have meanings that aren't immediately clear, and it can be confusing when they come up in conversations.

King Menuas of Urartu was a great warrior and builder. Urartu centred on the district of Lake Van in Anatolia, but also extended over the Transcaucasian regions of modern Russia and into northwestern Iran in the ninth-sixth centuries BCE.
