Marlys, excited about being accepted as an apprentice sorceress, is astonished to find that the other apprentices bully her mercilessly. This short story follows Esporanzo, a young man who dreams of adventure. Armed with his trusty spoon he finds himself living a dream as he battles rat pirates, enters a living spider-like castle, and confronts an accordion dragon. The adventure is only surpassed by the whimsy of this tale.

Fantasy adventure following the story on from The Three Tasks. The light got more intense, and when it dimmed down and there was no more light, left standing in place of the dragon was a beautiful white eagle. It let out a small screech and then took to the skies. The young man and the young woman came together and looked up at the Legna. She told them that they had both done really well and that they must continue together to travel the Earth....
