Maja er 12 år og forelsket i naboens Nikolaj – og i sin hest Daystar. Så det er med blandede følelser, hun tager på tre ugers sommerferie hos sin farmor. MED Daystar, men UDEN Nikolaj. Det ender nu alligevel med at blive en både dejlig og dramatisk sommerferie.
