In Babies on Board Part 1, we follow Grumpy the Iguana, Little Mouse, Green Parrot, and Mr. Squirrel head to the beach for a family beach day. It is here that they run into their old friend Mr. Sea Turtle as he waits for his children to be born. Babies on Board Part 2 continues this story. Grumpy and friends head back to the beach only this time in the middle of the night. They have promised Mr. Sea Turtle that they will all help him make sure that when the baby sea turtles hatch from their eggs, they will make it safely to the ocean where their dad is waiting.

Little Mouse has chosen a wish from his wish box. It says "beach day with your family". When Grumpy the Iguana, the Green Parrot, Mr. Squirrel, and Little Mouse arrive at the beach, they all notice the strange-shaped area blocked off by poles and yellow tape. It is a baby sea turtle nest, Green Parrot explains to Little Mouse. What starts out as a fun beach day turns into a day of great importance and a promise that all of the friends make to help someone in need.

Little Mouse has many fears. His biggest fear is the big black cat that lives in the park. He has other fears, too, like being alone and not being part of a family. He wants to feel safe and cared for. He is, after all, just a little mouse trying to survive the dangers that come from being vulnerable in this great big world. Enter Grumpy the Iguana, the Green Parrot, and Mr. Squirrel, who have decided to make Little Mouse a part of their family and present him with a very special gift called the Wish Box.

Gizmo and Trina sang simple swamp songs as they skipped through the murky swampland, which they daily called home. Many claimed that it was a stinky swamp, but these two had gotten used to the scent.
