Au cours de sa vie, Andersen écrivit plus de 150 contes. Il entreprit en tout trente voyages vers l'Allemagne, le Royaume-Uni, l'Italie, l'Espagne et l'Empire Ottoman.

This new audiobook production features the voices of 30 regional and local performers (including many Glimmer Globe veterans and newcomers) bringing to life every one of Dickens' characters as they appear in the original text. "A Christmas Carol" is a novella by Charles Dickens. "A Christmas Carol" tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an old miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After their visits Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man.

"A Visit from St. Nicholas", more commonly known as "The Night Before Christmas" and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" from its first line, is a poem first published anonymously in 1823 and later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who claimed authorship in 1837.

The timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his adventures on Christmas Eve continue to teach an important lesson, even to this day. Author Charles Dickens introduces us to the main character by painting him in a negative light, a selfish and miserly old man who will barely pay enough money to keep his office heated. When Scrooge returns home after work, the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, visits him and tells him that because of the wrongdoing he had done during his life, he has been condemned to walk in his ghost years shackled....

When Clement Moore wrote a Christmas poem for his children about a magical visit from Saint Nicholas, he had no way of knowing that it would become the best-known and loved holiday poem of all time.

Scotland’s official national day is St Andrew's Day, the feast day of Saint Andrew. In the Bible it is Andrew who introduces his brother Peter to Jesus as the Messiah. As well as Scotland he is also the patron saint of the likes of Russia, Greece, the Ukraine, and Barbados.
