Many believers have backslid. Some have turned away completely while others have turned away only in small degrees. Many will honestly say, "I have lost that love which I first had for the Lord". Many are prepared to say that, but they are not willing to take radical steps to put things right. They see the need to repent; they desire to repent, but they do not repent, for they do not pay the price of repentance.

All the people who have made an impact on history varied in many things, but they all had one thing in common - they worked hard. It is only true that "the heights by which great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight but while their companions slept, they kept toiling upwards into the sky." The Lord has given us work to do. He desires it accomplished. If we are to accomplish that work, we must put all that we are and all that we have into it.

There are other people whose sicknesses are deeper than the physical dimension. They are crippled by fear, bitterness, jealousy and the like. Psychologists are doing the best that they can to provide answers for these people. However, Jesus is God's answer to all of man's need of healing and health. He is the right answer for these people. He has provided in his death, resurrection, and enthronement, all that man needs for total healing at all levels.

These messages that constitute the book, The Way of Spiritual Encouragement, were written while I was away from Cameroon to seek God's face and sort out many things with him. They have been a great blessing to me. I was shocked by what the Lord was saying to me and, by his grace, will say to those he will allow to listen to these messages. My own faith in him grew as I wrote them. I have been deeply comforted to know that God is so good, so loving and so gracious. My desire is to love him more and more.

What is success in the Christian life? Success in the Christian life is for an individual to be all that God saved him for and all that God wants him to be. The one who wants to be successful must, therefore, discover that which the lord saved him for and wants him to be, and accomplish it. In order to do this, he must find out the overriding purpose of God for his life and do it. He must set that purpose as the one goal of his life and then put all of himself and all that he has into accomplishing it.

The Lord Jesus had one reason for coming from heaven into our world. That reason was to seek and to save the lost. He died on the cross for all sinners and thus shed his blood for all men. Everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus is saved from the consequence of his sin - eternal separation from God in hell. Everyone who does not believe in the Lord Jesus will go to hell.

In this book, the possibilities are offered through Bible meditation, prayer, and obedience, for the overcomer to enter into a daily encounter with God that will transform every aspect of his walk with him. God can indeed be heard and met every day, and many times a day. He is waiting to be heard. He is anxious to talk to his children, to hear them and to answer them. He is not silent. You can encounter him today and he can encounter you, and you will never be the same.

God desires and expects to fill with His Spirit and power each person who is saved. This expectation of the Lord must meet the cooperation of the believer to remove from his heart and from his life all the things that fill his heart and his life preventing him from being filled with the Holy Spirit.
