Political Philosophy

What is political philosophy? Well, it could be defined as the study of the process by which humans compete against each other to see the policies that would best serve their own self-interest become public policy or custom or law. It is also a study of morals as political philosophers attempt to determine what type of policies would be best for any given human society.

The United States was once the hope of the world, a beacon of freedom, and the defender of liberal democracy. Meditations on First Philosophy in which the existence of God and the immortality of the soul are demonstrated is a philosophical treatise by René Descartes first published in Latin in 1641.
