Erickson, MD was an American psychiatrist who pioneered several indirect or permissive hypnosis techniques. He also developed several naturalistic techniques using metaphors and stories.

The field of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) started in the 1970's but has continually evolved thanks to numerous developers over the years. This audiobook starts with the core concept, which is the NLP communication model, upon which this system of human change is based. Starting with a simple concept of how a person filters their perceptions and how that affects their mind, individuals, coaches, and mental health professionals have used NLP to overcome fears and limitations, increase confidence, and move toward a more successful life.

One of the first skills that NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) students are taught is how to immediately establish rapport - and how to break rapport when needed. This book presents several techniques that can be used to gain a high-level rapport that can then be used to influence, sale, and gain better empathy. Although I respect the fact that starting at an early age does give a person a jump start, achieving mastery - or at least a substantially enhanced level of performance - can happen at any age. As a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP trainer, obviously my emphasis will be on the use of suggestion and imagination as tools to accelerate the achievement of mastery. The more you focus on a skill, the thicker and more developed the neural substrate related to the skill will become.
