In this second book, Autumn knows unicorns have a unique ability to find magical objects in nature with their horn. She recruits Gwyn, her friend from the magic realm, with a plan to find the vanishing and reappearing gem around her town. Autumn’s plan is to find the gem and give it to Abe Undertree, a boy who recently moved into Stillbrook and owns a wizard staff, but has no way of powering it. Autumn wants to be his friend and hopes this gift will help him join their ground. So Gwyn, Autumn, and Sky all set out on an adventure that leads to a wild goose chase all over Stillbrook.

In this book, Autumn learns of a rumor being spread around through school about another unicorn. Thinking it could be a unicorn Gwyn knows, Autumn shares the rumor with the unicorn. Together, Gwyn and her friends wander through the town, heading to the location where the rumored unicorn was seen. As they walk, Gwyn wonders if she truly is the only unicorn in this world and tries to not get her hopes too high about another unicorn. But a small hope remains, and she grows just as excited as her friends.
