From a very young age, Judy Heumann heard the word NO. When she wanted to attend public school, the principal said NO. When she wanted her teaching license, the New York Board of Education said NO. Judy and people with disabilities everywhere were tired of hearing “NO”. In the 1970s, an important disability rights law, Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, was waiting to be signed. Judy and other disability rights activists held a sit-in until Section 504 was signed into law, laying the foundation for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Deborah is an imaginative and perceptive young girl who makes good decisions in the heat of the moment. When she sees her village is about to be invaded by King Jabin and his general, Sisera, she bravely warns the people of danger, and everyone flees. But that doesn't stop Jabin and Sisera's vicious attacks. As Deborah grows up, she becomes a natural leader, sharing God's will with the people and helping them solve difficult problems. Eventually, God calls her to help defeat Sisera's army so that Israel can finally live in peace.

Elizabeth came from a struggling middle-class family in Oklahoma City. After a heart attack put her father out of work, she helped out by babysitting, waitressing, and sewing, all while shining as a star member of her school's debate team. Debate taught her how to fight with her words, a skill that eventually won her a state championship and a college scholarship. Today, she continues to fight (with her words) for the poor and the middle-class through her role as a senator.
