このオーディオブックが生まれたのは、1枚のSPレコードと出会ったことが、きっかけでした。それは、1931年に録音されたマハトマ・ガンディーの、世界に2つしか残っていない英語のスピーチでした。何とかこのスピーチを日本語で聴きたい、そう思いました。やがて大阪女学院大学の友野先生とゼミの学生達や他の先生方を巻き込んで、ようやくかたちになりました。音源から英語の文章を起こし、さらに翻訳するという作業は、6分程のスピーチとはいえ、大変な手間を要する仕事になりました。日本語訳の朗読は声優の神谷明さんが、協力を申し出て頂けるなど、大勢のみなさまのご協力をいただきました。このオーディオブックには、ガンディーの英語のスピーチと神谷明さんの日本語訳の朗読、それに、このスピーチに関する解説や翻訳に関わった学生達へのインタビューや主導した友野先生のお話等が収められています。まだ一度も日本語に翻訳されていないこのスピーチを、是非聴いてみて下さい。(C)PAMLINK
