The mysterious Overlords destroyed all electronics on Earth, imposed a game-like System, and unleashed ravenous horrors upon the planet. I’m Noah Clark, a streamer famous for my ability to beat co-op games while playing solo. The System doesn’t care if we live or die, but I was able to pick the hidden summoner class, so I’ve got access to game breaking mechanics that just might give me a chance.

With the galaxy thrown into chaos by mutual breaches of the Two Hundred Years' peace, what seemed like an isolated incident on the Thelicosa/Merida border has become an epidemic. In the midst of this chaos, the Thelicosan and Meridan fleets on their respective borders have come to a sort of tense peace after the events in Book II, but now it's clear: Somebody wants war. And it's not the Free Systems of the galaxy.

The System is here! Most of the population of the planet were suddenly turned into zombies, while the rest acquired new abilities. Abilities that let them run from the zombies, save themselves, hide, and try to survive. But it only takes one bite that almost always means death. Our hero was standing in line when the apocalypse came. He was lucky at first to be caught in a crowd when the zombies tried to bite him on the leg. Really lucky, because those trials unlocked new abilities for him.

Marc and his party have finished their zeppelin and taken it out to try to discover other Safe Zones. Their intent is to set up trade routes between all the different Safe Zones in order to give them a better chance to survive. The second Safe Zone they discover with the zeppelin is nearly as large as Any Port. It even has its own ring of outlier Safe Zones, or a partial ring at least. It appears that several of the smaller Safe Zones have been taken and converted into dungeons. With the safety of the larger Safe Zone at stake, they bring the zeppelin down to help the larger Safe Zone.

The System took over the whole world in an instant, and people lost any ability to communicate with each other. But the deadies weren't the only ones who could get better. Over time all the peoples of the earth found ways to contact each other, with the System allowing them to trade, communicate, and come to each other's aid.

For Marc and his party, their current quest seems to drag on and on. Clearing the Labyrinth, defeating Circe, destroying Medusa, and more have become a grind. The main factor that keeps them going is that Zeus is keeping his promise by helping their levels shoot up. Meanwhile, Marc's Safe Zone, Any Port, and the accompanying Safe Zone network continue expanding and growing. They keep him busy whenever he manages to get back home on breaks from the quest.

Dr. Alfred Clarendon, once praised as a brilliant researcher, now spirals into darkness as his forbidden experiments unleash consequences he can no longer control. Isolated inside the California State Penitentiary, haunted by the failures of his fever research and manipulated by his mysterious assistant Surama, Clarendon descends into a psychological labyrinth where ambition eclipses ethics.

What do you do when you're one of the few people that's received training before your planet is inducted into a System? Mike and his group made it through the initial induction of Earth into the System and are using the training they received before that to try to help people in the area, all while growing more powerful. Rescuing the survivors in the suburbs of the nearby town leads to them running into all sorts of new monsters, gaining levels quickly as they clear out the threats, and rescuing the few survivors from those areas.
