Col. "Bo" Bottomly is assigned as task force commander of the Dragon One Combat Task Force. Their assignment is to combat-test the A-37. But when several F-4 planes are shot down by a North Vietnamese barge battery over the Mekong River, Col. On April 10, 1970, Hill 927 was occupied by troopers of the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division. Ripcord was the Screaming Eagles's last chance to do significant damage to the NVA in the A Shau Valley before the division was withdrawn from Vietnam and returned to the US.
