Clive the spider lives a quiet life in an old pair of boots that once belonged to grandad. But when Albert Spindler, the owner of the boots, finds the name Montgomery inside them, he thinks he has struck gold. He believes the boots are a rare relic from Monty, the legendary World War Two hero. He decides to take them to London and sell them at Sotheby’s Auction House. But things don’t go as planned. Along the way, Clive faces many dangers, including a near-fatal plunge into the Thames. He has to use his wit and cleverness to stay alive.

For example, when you have been kind to a dog, the dog will wag its tail. When you show kindness to a cat, it will start rubbing its body around you, and the cat will make a purring noise to show you that it is happy.
