Reminiscences of the Civil War is John Brown Gordon’s firsthand account of the war as seen through the eyes of the prominent officer. Gordon was trusted and admired by many, including Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis. The work begins with him being elected as the commander of the “Raccoon Roughs” and his recollection of the Battle of Manassas. He also describes the South’s surrender at Appomattox, in which he participated. He recounts his role in individual battles such as Antietam, Chancellorsville, Spotsylvania, and Gettysburg.

They Touched Our Heroes for the Last Time documents the 24-year career of Air Force Navigator John E. "Jack" O'Connor, who flew the first mission into Vietnam to recover the remains of POWs in Vietnam. Follow his career from his enlistment into the air force, through OCS school and many of his death-defying missions with the air force.

This project has taken me a lot longer than anticipated. I would guess that I’ve been at it for more than 20 years. Con Thien was a United States Marine Corps firebase that was the scene of fierce combat for months on end during 1967.
