DEI consultant and corporate speaker, Risha Grant, shares her practice of learning how to welcome and embrace people’s full humanity, without BS, full stop. What’s BS? It’s bullshit for sure, but more specifically it’s the powerful and often invisible belief systems we’ve been steeped in since birth—the judgment and bias we carry with us that impact our own lives and the many others we encounter every day. Risha teaches us about the inner work and the outer work we need to do to dismantle our “biasphere,” and change how we see ourselves and how we interact with others.

Ethics - described briefly as the norms by which acceptable and unacceptable behaviors are measured - has been the concern, and perhaps the great dilemma, of sentient humans since Socrates subjected it to philosophical inquiry almost 2,500 years ago. Socrates believed, without universal acceptance, that the most pertinent issues people must deal with are related to how we live our lives, what actions are and are not righteous, and how people should live together peacefully.

Gender balance is first and foremost a business issue. McKinsey estimates we could add 28 trillion to global GDP if we achieved gender equality everywhere - that is more than the GDPs of the US and China combined. But it is so much more than that. Gender balance is one of the best levers we can pull to build better managers and leaders at every level, improve team performance and create better cultures where everyone can thrive.

No matter who you are or what you aim to achieve, power determines whether you succeed or fail. Buy this book, because I can guarantee, if you listen to all of it, from beginning to end God will move in your life. I cannot guarantee God’s move won’t be to body slam you to the floor with your own personal truth, (that is what he did to me, twice) but I can guarantee he will move.... So, if you need, really need something but you don’t know what it is. Buy this book.
