What the critics say

"Chris Guillebeau often says, 'Inspiration is good, but inspiration combined with action is so much better,' and this collection of side hustles is an invaluable resource for both inspiration and action. It’s packed with practical and engaging ideas, tips, strategies, and, most helpful, real-life examples of people who have succeeded." Very boring

I book like this I think u need in hard copy. Then go skim quickly to see the type of huslte and drill down into the ones that interest you. Listening to dozens of husltes that you would never attemp diluted my ambition somewhat.

Your mileage may vary

great ideas.

Lots of great ideas. Didn't love the narrator's voice though. There were also a lot of cheezy puns which would have been funny if they weren't read in a monotone voice.

Great listen.

I was engaged right off the start. The Author Chris is very well spoken and full of great strategies to start an online business. I would recommend this book to anyone that has a product, service or idea that would like to share it with the world. Great job Chris.

Best of his books

This is the 3rd book of Chris Guillebeau’s that I’ve read and by far my favorite. It made me come up with my own version of a side hussle I heard about in this book!

Boring and vague

Couldn't get through most of it. Literally the same vague story over and over again with really dull hobbies/ side hustles. Very disappointed. Hate it a lot.

Roll your eyes puns throughout!

I'll start with the puns. My husband love puns and is quick to point out when I have unknowingly said one. Chris Guillebeau's puns are very endearing to me. I loved seeing Chris’s personality come through this way in the book. Content- so many amazing ideas and critical factors. Simply put strategic plans, makes me see how simple it can be to get started and succeed. I am inspired to be able to write to Chris telling him about my Sussex’s at a side huddle.

Not useful

All the examples in this book are people who succeeded, without considering a lot more people who did the same things and failed. For every successful business, there are many copy cat competitions that pop up quickly, and there are a lot more scammers that will ruin your business. You have to be the first one to come up with the idea and the success is often short lived.

A good collection, but bad analysis.

The book contains a lot of good stories that could inspire you. The formatting was a bit annoying though because the author tells the story and then analyzes what brought the person success by simply retelling a cliff notes version of the story again. Instead he should have actually identified and recounted the top 3 things in a 1 sentence and later compiled them across the stories to determine what they had in common. It would have been more useful in my opinion.

Much like the podcast.

Some of the stories you’ve heard but with a few new ones. I don’t know that there’s much more information than in the podcast; but if you like the podcast you’ll like the book.

Excuse the puns

The corny puns might make you twist your lips, but the information is real. Well worth the price.

decent book

good book to help generate ideas. only thing I found annoying and a bit cringy was the amount of puns that were used for each story. some were funny, but it got annoying after awhile. if you update the book I would suggest less puns.
