About this listen

Over decades of research and work with thousands of families, Russell A. Barkley has become a leading authority on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in kids and teens. He has learned what a huge difference parents can make in supporting their children's success - as well as how overwhelming it can be. This concise guide presents 12 key parenting principles for dealing with common behavioral, emotional, and school challenges. By cultivating a mindset of acceptance and compassion - together with an understanding of the executive function deficits of ADHD - you can strengthen your loving connection with your child and help your whole family thrive.

Russell Barkley is amazing. I can't believe how much this man has given of his life, to researching ADHD...and to our great benefit! Listen to him if you are struggling as a parent, teacher or friend of someone who suffers with ADHD. For me, I have greatly struggled with my, now 13 year old, son's ADHD behavior. I am just scratching the surface of education and understanding him. Therefore i feel i am much more capable of supporting him and advocating for him at school and in other, social situations. If nothing else, give principle #2 a listen.

The content seems very good, and if you are in the ADHD world you know that the author is revered as a real leader in this field. However I cannot listen to this awful narration. The person sounds like a mechanical 1950’s science film strip narrator. It’s awful. I wish I could return it.
