In 1984, at the age of 20, Duff McKagan left his native Seattle - partly to pursue music, but mainly to get away from a host of heroin overdoses then-decimating his closest group of friends in the local punk scene. In LA only a few weeks and still living in his car, he answered a want ad for a bass player placed by someone who identified himself only as "Slash." Soon after, the most dangerous band in the world was born. Guns N' Roses went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Pioneers of Britain's nascent rock and metal scene back in the late 1970s, Iron Maiden smashed its way to the top, thanks in no small part to the high-octane performances, operatic singing style, and stage presence of its second but twice-longest-serving lead singer, Bruce Dickinson. As Iron Maiden's front man - first from 1981 to 1993 and then from 1999 to the present - Dickinson has been, and remains, a man of legend.

The son of a classical pianist straight out of the Bronx of old Archie comics, Steven Tyler was born to be a rock star. Weaned on Cole Porter, Nat King Cole, Mick and his beloved Janis Joplin, Tyler began tearing up the streets and the stage as a teenager before finally meeting his "mutant twin" and legendary partner, Joe Perry. In this addictively listenable memoir, Tyler unabashedly recounts the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of Aerosmith over the last three decades and riffs on the music that gives it all meaning.

They were just a couple of tweets, but they propelled actress and Playboy playmate Carrie Stevens into the headlines, as stories swirled about sexual harassment in the movie industry and President Trump’s alleged affairs. Besieged by the media, Carrie was shocked and astounded at the frenzy these tweets aroused. It convinced her that she needed to write her memoir. People ask me how come I'm still alive, and I don't know what to say. When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f--king way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time. A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil.

James Hetfield, with whom many years ago Mustaine founded a band known as Metallica, once observed, with some incredulity, that Mustaine must have been born with a horseshoe up his ass. That's how lucky he's been, how fortunate he is to be pulling breath after so many close calls. And Hetfield is right. Mustaine has been lucky. He has been blessed. But here's the thing about having a horseshoe lodged in your rectum: It also hurts like hell. And you never forget it's there.

Publisher's Summary
18 and Life on Skid Row tells the story of a boy who spent his childhood moving from Freeport, Bahamas, to California and finally to Canada and who, at the age of eight, discovered the gift that would change his life.
Throughout his career Sebastian Bach has sold over 20 million records both as the lead singer of Skid Row and as a solo artist. He is particularly known for the hit singles "I Remember You", "Youth Gone Wild", and "18 & Life" and the albums Skid Row and Slave to the Grind, which became the first ever hard rock album to debut at number one on the Billboard Top 200 and landed him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Bach then went on to become the first rock star to grace the Broadway stage, with starring roles in Jekyll & Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also appeared for seven seasons on the hit television show Gilmore Girls.
In his memoir Bach recounts lurid tales of excess and debauchery as he toured the world with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Soundgarden, Pantera, Nine Inch Nails, and Guns N' Roses. 18 and Life on Skid Row is the story of hitting it big at a young age and of a band that broke up in its prime. It is the story of a man who achieved his wildest dreams, only to lose his family and then his home. It is a story of perseverance; of wine, women, and song; and of a man who has made his life on the road and always will. 18 and Life on Skid Row is not your ordinary rock memoir, because Sebastian Bach is not your ordinary rock star.

Loved this Autobiography!
If you love 80's Hair Metal you will also love this book. I mean, come on it's Baz. You already know the shenanigans he was getting up to! The best part about this audiobook is that Bach narrates it himself and for that reason he adds several bonuses only available in this format. "BONUS!!" Hilarious. This book was super fun, especially since I just saw him in concert over the summer. Do me a favor... get this book, shut your brain off, and let Baz take you back to a time when sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll was a lifestyle. Very few lived it like Sebastian Bach. #Audible1

Entertaining AF
I’m a huge metal head but I’ve never been a huge Skid Row fan. I have to say this book changed my mind. Sebastian Bach
, although a good looking guy in his time, was not my type. I always found him kind of dorky and awkward - a few decent songs with a great voice. This book totally changed my mind. Although still dorky, he is fun loving, super hilarious and a lot of times very self reflective. Some of the stories had me laughing full out while driving down the road and made my long commutes go by so fast. And now that I know some of the back story, I appreciate the music so much more. 10/10 for his enthusiasm and entertaining story telling. The bonus rounds were the best. Hearing it from Bach, shows what a true entertainer he is and made the story behind the words stand out that much more. Even in the darkest parts of his life he seems to have held on to that child like innocence and joy for life that many people lose. Would highly recommend to any rock fan.

Exceptional read!
I was extremely drawn into this book. I loved how Sabastian was truely being himself. I would find myself laughing quite often at this man's awesome sense of humor. I did not want this book to end and was very disappointed when I reached the last chapter. I was tempted to hit replay as soon as it was finished. This book put a smile on my face every time I listened to it. I loved hearing how much Sabastian had grown and now was in love with his life. I believe this is a man who really does live his life to the fullest.

this book immediately grabs your attention , the way Sebastian narrates the book kept a smile on my face the entirety of the listen as he seems so happy recounting His Glory Days and even the days he enjoys now. there are many great stories here, some that will make you laugh out loud and some that will make you misty-eyed. Amazing Stories include encounters with Metallica, Pantera, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue and many others. he has indeed had an amazing career. Interesting details missing
Unfortunately, anything you really wanted to know was left out of the book. No details about why he doesn’t own a piece of the name of Skid Row, how much money he made and lost over the years, what’s kept the band from getting back together, what lead to his divorce and why his son’s don’t talk to him, his struggles with alcoholism, etc - you get the idea. Definitely a big fan, but was disappointed that endless key details were left out of the book.

Made My Ride To Work Rock!!!
I have a pretty long commute to and from work, and I couldn't wait to get in the car and listen to more of this book! Sebastian Bach is a talented rock star who has lived a life that has been anything but ordinary compared to the lives of us average peeps...but he is extremely down-to-earth, relatable, and funny. When he laughs during his narration, YOU laugh right along with him. He is a fantastic narrator, and I enjoyed listening to him tell all his stories of life, the music business, and crazy behind-the-scenes moments that make rock star bios so awesome. I have listened to quite a few autobiographies lately (actors, comedians, musicians) and Sebastian's is definitely one of my favorites. Sebastian's love of music is clear in this book, and if you are a big music fan like I am, you will truly enjoy his story!

Loved How Sebastian Told His Story
What did you love best about 18 and Life on Skid Row?
How Sebastian tells his story. I've listened to a lot of bios and this one is one of a kind. You hear everything when he is telling you his story. He laughs, makes comments and sound effects.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course Sebastian
Which scene was your favorite?
The start and middle. I grew up listening to Skid Row and all of the bands that he was talking about. He tells the stories, the real stories.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I just wanted everyone else to hear him. Hear how he tells his story. I'm so happy I didn't read it and I listened to it.
Any additional comments?
This is a truly one of a kind book. I would recommend it to everyone. It's hard to describe the stories and storytelling but if you listen to this book you won't regret it!
