A gem!

I loved this book for so many reasons. In this unique and easy to listen or read format, with an abundance of fascinating and fun facts and easy to incorporate hacks, listening to this was a joy! I especially appreciated that every fact is backed up by the evidence, and articulated in an easy to digest manner. The narrator was also excellent, with a wonderful relaxing tone and cadence. There is such a wealth of information in this book, from the evidence for drinking a glass of water before meals, to the data on what happens to your metabolism when you diet, whether fast or slow weight loss is best, how adding spices changes your body’s inflammatory response to your meal, the benefits of plant-based diets, and concepts such as the ‘mindless margin’ and the ‘eating sitting down’ diet. The author answered questions that I had wondered about but so many more that I didn’t realise I needed to know! If you wish to lose or maintain your weight for your health, this book is essential reading, but really this is for anyone who loves to learn about the evidence and psychology behind what, how and why we eat as we do, and how our body responds. I will be buying the hard copy also so I can dip in and out and have the references to hand. Thank you Jane Thurnell-Read for all the hard work that went into this fabulous book.
