Publisher's Summary

What do you personally think about change? Does your mind go wild with anxiety at the sight of the word, or are you one of those people who enjoys the thrill of change?

Few of us can admit that change is necessary in our lives. And yet, we all need change to grow into better versions of ourselves. Change can be scary to think about. In this book, you will find seven steps that I promise will change your life. I start by detailing how essential it is for you to know the emotions you are dealing with. This book is specifically designed to deal with the fear of change, but there may also be other emotions that you are battling that may be preventing you from pursuing your goals.

Therefore, in the first step, you will be invited to reflect on your emotions. Sit quietly for a few days, or even a month, to ask yourself how you are truly feeling. What emotions within do you find upsetting; that is, emotions you would like to let go of? Once you have that done, we slowly move on to the second step, which is more about acceptance, by admitting that you have a problem. I propose in the book that there are exponential benefits available by being honest with yourself. If you convince yourself for years that you are doing fine, problematic behaviors will surely seep in through the cracks to show you that you are not. I would also like to add that seeking therapy is a good start when unraveling past traumas. If therapy is not ideal for you at the moment, be assured that this book is capable of slowly taking you through all you need to know about overcoming the fear of change.

Third step. Here, I propose that you consider thinking positively about your life to counteract the negativity of fear. You see, fear is a stressful emotion to hold on to for long periods of time. And this stress can cause your manner of thinking to lean more to the negative side. Normally, one would have to wait for a moment of reckoning, through going out, meeting new people, and making mistakes. But I believe that learning from someone else's experience through a book or any other medium also does the trick. This book offers you a few steps that you can take to bring some light into a gloomy mentality. So, if you find yourself always thinking of the worst, then consider doing the actions in the third step to bring some positivity into your mind.

In the fourth step, we begin to look at your specific goals. At the same time, you will reflect on your complex emotions; in step four, you will think through all of the goals you have had in the past up to and including the present moment. This will involve dreams you had as a child and those you have now. You will be asked to write them down as you think them through. This process does not have to be rushed. If you need a month to think this through, that is fine. You will think about the many things you have always wanted to try, but were scared to. The goal is for you to see the journey you should have taken had you not been scared. After all, allowing life to take you with the wind is not the best way to live. So, if you have been living on autopilot for the past few years, simply taking things as they come, I recommend that you start becoming more intentional with your life.

And lastly, we go through the importance of taking things slowly. We learn to understand that you do not have to rush through this journey if you learn to commit to it every day. In no way am I saying that this will be easy. And yes, there will be times when you feel like rushing the process. But I urge you to take things at a calm and cautious pace, to make sure that you are growing through the experience. There is no growth in speed. There are things you will learn about yourself when you take things slowly. I hope that this book will prove to be a benefit on your journey.
