À propos de cet audio

Fall in love with this small-town love story about a widower sheriff and a divorced schoolteacher who are searching for second chances -- only to be threatened by long-held secrets of the past.

Miles Ryan's life seemed to end the day his wife was killed in a hit-and-run accident two years ago. As deputy sheriff of New Bern, North Carolina, he not only grieves for her and worries about their young son Jonah but longs to bring the unknown driver to justice. Then Miles meets Sarah Andrews, Jonah's second-grade teacher. A young woman recovering from a difficult divorce, Sarah moved to New Bern hoping to start over. Tentatively, Miles and Sarah reach out to each other...soon they are falling in love. But what neither realizes is that they are also bound together by a shocking secret, one that will force them to reexamine everything they believe in-including their love.©2001 by Nicholas Sparks; (P)2001 by Time Warner AudioBooks

It starts with tears, keeps you guessing, keeps you interested and praying. I found myself enveloped in this story, not moving, holding my breath and thankful that I was being read to because there were points I wouldn’t have been able to see the words for tears. One of the best stories I’ve read/listened to in a very long time. The narrators voice was very soothing, keeping you interested and able to see the story he is telling. Moving on to more of Nicolas Sparks stories I think...

Keeps you intrigued...

This is my third Nicholas Sparks book and I absolutely loved it. I was captured from the moment I started listening to the narrator and wondered where he was leading to. The plot was immaculate and well crafted and kept me guessing throughout. A wonderful and beautiful love story!

I usually like Nicholas Sparks as his books have been a guilty pleasure for me. They aren't literary masterpieces but good comfort reads. So I was shocked to find one that left me feeling so "meh." about it.

It was so very predictable to a point it borders on cliche. Even the end comparison I was thinking "Of course. ugh." and smacking my forehead. I mean, it wasn't a horrible plot but the characters weren't actually likeable and it just was not what I'm used to getting from Sparks.

But what do I know? I can't write a novel and he's made millions. Lol. But I still say that I can't imagine that even Nicholas himself is particularly proud of this one.

Save the credit. Try another.

Sigh. it was "okay".
