It's rare to find a book with such personality. The clarity of vision given not only to the world, but to the characters makes this book shine! From the first words, the narrator is fully realized as both a person we all know so well and are dying to know more of. Rowland writes a story here with the narrative focus of Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness and the knack for worldbuilding like Patrick Rothfuss and an understanding of storytelling that speaks right to your heart. It's a book I will surely cherish for the rest of my life.
