Greta Nilsson's trip west to save her ailing little sister, Astrid, could not have gone more wrong. First, bandits hold up her stagecoach, stealing all her money. Good but not great

I like the book, it’s simple and has a love story but not very steamy or thrilling. It’s a gentle one, which is nice. The narrator had a very whiney voice for the child, which was kind of annoying. The main character- Greta- has annoying and pathetic traits which are frustrating. She seems to forget that most people in those times would marry for a dowry and gets so upset at one given for her. Which is just unrealistic for 1862. I still wanted to find out what happened in the end so I listened at an increased speed.
But I did find the constant doubts and poor self esteem the main characters had quite suffocating -and repetitive.
