Story
Audie Award, Fantasy, 2016. As the smallest dragon in the Heartstriker clan, Julius survives by a simple code: keep quiet, don't cause trouble, and stay out of the way of bigger dragons. But this meek behavior doesn't fly in a family of ambitious magical predators, and his mother, Bethesda the Heartstriker, has finally reached the end of her patience.

Story
There is no way to write a blurb for this final book without spoiling all of the others. Suffice it to say, mysteries resolve, dragons war, pigeons abound, and Julius must risk himself in ways he never dreamed possible as Bob's grand plan finally comes to fruition.

Story
The DFZ, the metropolis formerly known as Detroit, is the world’s most magical city with a population of nine million and zero public safety laws. That’s a lot of mages, cybernetically enhanced chrome heads, and mythical beasties who die, get into debt, and otherwise fail to pay their rent. When they can’t pay their bills, their stuff gets sold to the highest bidder. That’s when they call me. I’m a Cleaner: a freelance mage employed by the DFZ to sort through the mountains of magical junk people leave behind. It’s not a pretty job, or a safe one....

Story
In the world’s most magical metropolis where spirits run noodle shops and cash-strapped dragons stage photo-ops for tourists, people still think fairies are nothing but stories, and that’s exactly how the fairies like it. It’s a lot easier to feast on humanity’s dreams when no one believes you exist. But while this arrangement works splendidly for most fair folk, Lola isn’t one of the lucky ones.

Story
The ancient magic of wizards was anything but dark. It was the enlightenment that lifted humanity from the squalor of superstition, and the worship of fell spirits and capricious gods, but those days are gone. The shining glory of the sorcerers burned away the subtlety of wisdom, replacing it with easy power, held only in the hands of the elite - a new age built upon the elemental supremacy of aristocrats and the ignorance of the masses.

Publisher's Summary
To save his family from his tyrannical mother, Julius had to step on a lot of tails. That doesn't win a nice dragon many friends, but just when he thinks he's starting to make progress, a new threat arrives. Turns out, things can get worse. Heartstriker hasn't begun to pay for its secrets, and the dragons of China are here to collect. When the Golden Emperor demands his surrender, Julius will have to choose between loyalty to the sister who's always watched over him and preserving the clan he gave everything to protect.

Good listen
I enjoyed listening to this story- lots of good people. Bad people, manipulative people-plots within plots.

Grips your very soul
Just as the previous books did, this one ramped up to a whole new level that left me motionless and unable to tear myself away. It’s a definite must for your collection. It’s also hilarious, trust me.

cliffhanger but good story
I've heard the word haughty used less than 10 times in my life. After this book I'm sure that number is like 50. lol. Everything a dragon does is haughtily done.

Excellent sequel but one annoying thing
I really enjoyed this instalment of the series! I enjoyed the performance for the most part but having a character that is always whispering is extremely annoying to listen to. It is frustrating when you suddenly can’t hear anything that’s happening because Mr. Whisper is monologuing. Besides that, it was great.

Love this series!
The characters and plot are so good. I especially loved seeing more of Chelsea's story unfold. Sometimes the author takes a little too long to actually have her characters do something in this particular book - they sometimes overexplain, (which I think I noticed more in the audio version since I couldn't just skim over those parts like I did when reading the physical book). But the narrator does such an amazing job voicing these characters that I still love listening to the whole series.

There were times when the voice acting was LOUD
Really, really, really loud. I think maybe next time tone down the screeching and yelling.

Disappointing Compaired to its Piers
This addition to the Heartstriker series does not stand on its own very well, but at least moves the overall plot forward, laying groundwork for, we hope, better books. A somewhat disappointing addition to a otherwise excellent series.
