A FATE OF WRATH AND FLAME is the story of a woman whose life is turned upside down when she is transported to a magical realm and placed in a body that is hers… but not. An event that happens on the same night the king and queen of that realm are assassinated by her other self.

The premise is sharp and catching right from the beginning, one that promises adventure and drama in equal measure, especially as romance blossoms between the main character and the newly crowned king. I enjoyed this book quite a bit: Its characters are good, the banter is strong, and the world is immersive.

Romeria is a solid main character with cleverness, strength and kindness. Watching her unravel the truth of her new situation was always fun, especially when it clashed with King Zander.

Zander himself is a strong love interest who balances Romeria. They have good chemistry and their “previous” relationship made their romantic scenes more believable.

The side characters are fun and loveable and the world is easy to understand. I did think the plot slowed near the middle and some of the stakes weren’t as strong as they could be, yet I remained entertained throughout.

A great romantasy that is light on the spice and big on the characters. Give it a shot!

Loving the story but the narration is pretty bad. Feels like I am listening to the news everytime I listen to the audiobook... It's the opposite of relaxing and takes me out of the story. That's too bad, I don't think I'll be able to finish.

This is my first fantasy book as an adult. I read it as part of a book club, and was unsure about it based on the write up. But as soon as I started listening to it, it was engaging and hard to walk away from.
Romeria's character is well developed through the book, and the story is easy to follow, with lots of moments that leave you wondering what will happen next.
It was a book that I continued to think about after finishing it, and one that I intend to relisten to before reading the 3rd book when it gets released in the fall.

I do love the story so far it’s very good. It’s just the voice acting could have been better. When she was using the accents it was great but anything else I got confused if the character was saying something out loud or if it was the narrator or the main character. There wasn’t much emotion in there voice when they were the main character

It felt weird, like the narrator was sometimes reading an article or reciting facts rather than a novel. Odd especially during spicy scenes. Other than that the story and everything else was great.

I enjoyed the story. I’m a KA Tucker fan and she didn’t disappoint. The woman narrating this sounds like a robot reading news on public radio. Yikes.

Story:
the main attraction is the female MC - she did not start as a hysterical teenager like most other romantasies. Instead, she is sassy and very likable
however, since this is just the start, there is not much happening and it's mostly just providing background. Highly recommend reading the whole series together

Performance:
* very good actresses, especially with different ascents for different characters

I chose this book because it was a fantasy romance recommendation that was included with my Audible subscription. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I ended up really enjoying the story. The voice actress does decent male voices, but could have used more of a variation between males.
I’m really hoping that book two will be free next month, as it’s been added to the TBR.

exceptional read for those who love a fantasy romance. Enimies to lovers, slow burn. some decent spicey spots but not too much to take away from the story arch, lots of good battles, large world building with epic travels across the map and wonderful mystery prophacy intrigue. nattarator is out of this world with accents, emotions and such unique voices for each character I always knew who was talking. one of the best narrators I've heard.
