Publisher's Summary

The Narthon Empire and an Iraquinik member, Kolinka, made a mistake.

They tried to kill or capture Yozef Kolsko. The possibility that Caedellium could have peaceful years going forward is refuted. The key is bringing down Narthon. But how?

Caedellium is too small, despite innovations by Yozef Kolsko (Joseph Colsco) and Mark Kaldwel (Caldwell), humans cast away on the planet Anyar. Allies are needed. Campaigns to be planned. Risks to be taken.

For Yozef Kolsko, it means assuming roles he never imagined or believed himself capable.

Anyar will never be the same.

Great story but a bit of a slow burn

It’s a great story but a bit slow at times. Still though, will be looking forward to the next book.

over story is great obviously but

as we now have come to expect it has 70% fat vs 30% actual events. for example, hours of story is rehashing a plan or decision, each character will go over the same details with other characters repeatedly stating the reasoning. oh well , I'm now invested in the story so I'll take it . still recommend.

Waiting for the next book

Love the story and am waiting for the next instalment. So many ways to look at what is happening. What would you do? Similar histories on earth.

Enjoying the journey

This is another great book in the Destiny’s Crucibal series. I love the fact that these books take the time to setup scenes. The build up to major events makes it that much more enjoyable. I love the characters and their back stories. Throughout the series I keep wishing that Josepf could just relax and focus on inventing things. I am definitely looking forward to the next book by Olan!

Frustrating and terrible

I have really enjoyed listening to this series but I just can’t keep going with it. This instalment could’ve been told in a short story but instead is boring and drawn out like a textbook. Jonathan Davis is an awesome narrator but too many characters with similar voices and a major change to the voice of one of them made listening to this SO FRUSTRATING. Honestly, the writing didn’t do Jon any favours - the conversations continue to be ridiculous and tiresome. And the ending!!! Urgh! Just made me mad. Skip it, you won’t be missing much. Truly, I’m sad because I really wanted to like this book.
