Satisfying Early C20th Novella

I found this a very interesting listen.

Two woman accompany a rural police investigating team to the household of a couple, where the husband (seen by the man as a "good man" has been murdered and the wife seen as the murderer. Throughout the men dismiss and patronise the observations of the two women, and dismiss the idea that the women could find any clues as to the motive. It is unspoken by the two women but clear that Minnie Foster would not be tried by a jury that would understand her and work to undo the damning evidence.

Really enjoyable, I want to find more by this author.
