It is also the story of Annerley’s development from Childhood to womanhood, and her marriage. Above all it is the story of India, of the people’s fight for independence and the dawning of the end of British rule.
Note: This story, while fiction, is partly biographical of the early life and experiences of Elizabeth Cadell.
