I’ve been following this for many many years as web fiction, and it’s one of the greatest fantastical journeys I’ve ever read. The way power works is super unique and the way the characters take advantage of it will have you in awe. It’s been a really great pleasure being able to listen to this and kick start a re-read for me. Hope more will come soon!

I was honestly just looking for some kinda of palate cleansing book, wasn't expecting a lot but wow was I surprised! I'm actually so sad I found this book now and there isn't a 2nd book out yet, can't wait for the next one! This is definitely a great pickup, check it out!

characters are good, world feels alive, interesting story. I've read most of the books online but my eyes are bad, so I had to stop. excited to get to listen to the story.

Practical Guide in its original was a thing of beauty. The rewrite here, while I appreciate a few touches of polish, is crippled by its utter lack of faith in the reader. All nuance found in the original has been stripped out and replaced by what feels like a copy-paste over explanation. The editors clearly didn't care for the spirit of the original, and the decisive action has now been swaddled in what feels like hours of whinging and internal monologue. Go read the webtoons- it can't ruin the story with as much lazy exposition.
