Publisher's Summary

Theo Glass used to believe that love was just a fairy tale. Orphaned and disowned by his homophobic stepfamily, he and his grandma make ends meet as best they can. But when his grandma’s tireless charity work is honored, Theo makes sure he spends his last pennies to get her to the palace, hosted by none other than the gorgeous Prince James himself.

James is sixth in line to the throne of the United Kingdom and a disappointment to just about everyone. He never felt at home at school, on the rugby pitch, or even in the army. Being royalty means he’s been forced to keep a lid on his bisexuality. But when he meets Theo at the honors ceremony, he knows he’s in serious trouble.

Needing to find purpose, James convinces Theo to use his charity event savvy to throw a fundraiser ball in a secluded castle. All James has to do is behave himself around the sassy twink. But soon, the chemistry between them is too strong to resist.

Their lives are too different, and there’s no chance James can come out as the first prince of the United Kingdom with a boyfriend. But James knows if he doesn’t show Theo how much he means to him, he’ll lose him forever.

Can love conquer all? Or is that something just for fairy tales?

A Right Royal Affair is a steamy, stand-alone MM romance novel featuring a pack of unruly royal terriers, a romantic ball, feisty swans, a wicked stepfather, and a guaranteed HEA with absolutely no cliff-hanger.

Beautiful Fairy tale

4.5 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames

Narrator Kieran Flitton royally delivered a beatiful mm fairytale romance. OMG, was I pleasantly surprised by not only a truly first class fairy tale, but the unknown narrator who skillfully performed it. His voice fit the genre perfectly, and his ability to change his voice for each character, made the dialogues easy to listen to and enjoy.

Prince James meets Theo Glass at a recognition, of honors ceremony. Theo does not grovel or bootlick the prince, this intrigues him. He has to decide if he will fight for what he wants and the rest is history……

I do recommend this audiobook if you are in the mood for a sweet love story.

Cute Cinderella retelling

I'm a sucker for a good fairytale retelling, this one did not disappoint. The story hit all the highpoints of the original in cute ways that served the story well. I enjoyed the characters and the way the relationship developed. Great story.

A modern day, m/m Cinderella.

This book is just about the Sweetest thing you could imagine. Helen Juliet is an amazing author with a taste for sweet, low-angst love stories, and this modern day retelling of Cinderella, with plebian poor Theo from Essex falling in love with closed bisexual Prince James of England is absolutely amazing.
This was my first audiobook narrated by Kieran Flitton, and I really think he did both the characters and the story justice.

Narration was amazing

There was a lot of Disney cuteness in this book with a dash of smexy times mixed in.

Overall, I liked the characters. I found both MC's to be honest and real, their romance was genuine, and the conflict was plausible and quickly addressed.

As I mentioned, there were a lot of 'awwww' Disney moments that were a bit cheesy, but nothing too over the top. The book spanned the entirety of the relationship, which was fun to hear, not just a short epilogue.

I must admit, Kieran Flitton was an amazing narrator. I was never confused about who was talking. Everyone's voice was unique and he performed the story well.

Great Listen

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. It’s nice to listen to a story that a common person can find their Prince Charming. I love that Theo is unashamedly himself throughout the book. He doesn’t apologize for who he is and does everything he can to be true to himself. James tries to be who he thinks everyone wants him to be, but when he finds his center he realizes that he can’t be that person any longer. Great story.

Perfect Prince

The fact that this Prince wanted to do more than what was expected of him was great. I loved how he went against the families adviser and followed his heart.

Totally Worth Listening Too

An engrossing book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters great. The characters were developed and thought out. Theo and James are the MC’s of this book. This is my first time listening to this narrator and he was fantastic. He wasn’t monotone, each character had their own voice and he spoke clearly. I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
