Story
It’s October in Montreal, 2002, and winter is coming on fast. Past due on his first freelance gig and ensnared in lies to his family and friends, a graphic design student with a gambling addiction goes after the first job that promises a paycheck: dishwasher at the sophisticated La Trattoria. Though he feels out of place in the posh dining room, warned by the manager not to enter through the front and coolly assessed by the waitstaff in their tailored shirts, nothing could have prepared him for the tension and noise of the kitchen, or the dishpit’s clamor and steam.

Not bad, not great
The author clearly put a lot of research into this book, but I just couldn't quite stay hooked on a lot of the stories. Some of them really captured my attention while some others weren't as memorable. Not being a work of fiction, this is understandable however.
If you're a BC resident, you will likely enjoy this book more than I did, as there are a lot of references to specific places and events in the area.

A Very Strange Place Indeed
This was a collection of strange and unusual occurrences in Revelstroke Canada. Cryptically, ghosts, gremlins, strange lights, UFOs and more have been seen in the area. This book is a collections of short stories relating some of the events. The chapters and stories are fairly short. The author narrates his work. These happenings would be of note, but the fact that so many occur in this particular area, makes it a rare hot spot for the paranormal. Highly entertaining and somewhat spooky.

A soothing voice to scary stories.
Despite the book’s eerie content, the narrator’s voice makes the stories feel cozy. I loved the historical take on ghost stories as the author compares and contrasts the different experiences locals have in the same homes and businesses over time. It is definitely worth a listen, especially if you like local lore.

This book does not claim to have absolute truths about the paranormal. It tells the stories and let's the reader decide.
I find the performance to be absolutely above the average with the voice being soothing and a pleasure to listen to. If I find myself unable to sleep at night, I can turn on this book and either listen to in the dark or slowly be lulled into a nice, pleasant sleep.
