À propos de cet audio

Lawyers. Accountants. Software Engineers. That's what Mom and Dad encouraged us to become. They were wrong. Gone is the age of "left-brain" dominance. The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: designers, inventors, teachers, storytellers - creative and emphatic "right-brain" thinkers whose abilities mark the fault line between who gets ahead and who doesn't.

Drawing on research from around the advanced world, Daniel Pink outlines six fundamentally human abilities that are essential for professional success and personal fulfillment - and reveals how to master them.

From a laughter club in Bombay to an inner-city high school devoted to design, to a lesson on how to detect an insincere smile, A Whole New Mind takes listeners to a daring new place, and offers a provocative and urgent new way of thinking about a future that has already arrived.

With massive improvements in technology, we no longer find ourselves in a world that needs our muscle or our knowledge. Instead, we find ourselves in a world that is crying out for "art and heart."

So, what are we to do? How do we adapt and thrive in a world now marked by abundance and automation? Daniel Pink draws on findings from neurobiology and psychology to give deep and meaningful answers these questions.

This book is based on solid research and written in an engaging and understandable way. Each chapter ends with practical activities and recommendations for additional sources of information.

I hate to spoil the surprise but the good news is anyone with two cerebral hemispheres already has what it takes. You just need to use your "whoie" mind. Daniel Pink can give you guidance on practical ways that you can make that happen.

Highly recommended.

I purchased the audiobook after the Oprah interview, as the overall idea here is intriguing. It was a bit of a slog in book form, like one idea stretched out via statistics and quotes.
