À propos de cet audio

An original and groundbreaking audiobook that examines the psychological devastation of war by comparing the soldiers of Homer’s Iliad with Vietnam veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

In this strikingly original and groundbreaking audiobook, Dr. Shay examines the psychological devastation of war by comparing the soldiers of Homer’s Iliad with Vietnam veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Although the Iliad was written 27 centuries ago, it has much to teach about combat trauma, as do the more recent, compelling voices and experiences of Vietnam vets.

One of the most powerful and relevant works I've ever encountered. Incredibly insightful & revealing of the foundations, strengths & weaknesses of society on many levels. I cannot recommend this enough.

Incredible work on all levels.

Is too generic a word for the plane spoken revelatory insight this book offers. Having read many accountings of Vietnam this books ties in a clinical and humanistic perspective which lends depth to understanding the era, its soldiers, their conflicts, and maybe our own conflicts. I will take the lessons of combat trauma to my own work place in the hope of becoming a more compassionate and learned clinician in the ER.

Thank you.

Fantastic
