Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Publisher's Summary
An Instant New York Times Best Seller
In Talia Hibbert’s newest rom-com, the flightiest Brown sister crashes into the life of an uptight B&B owner and has him falling hard - literally.
Featured on Parade, PopSugar, Marie Claire, Oprah Mag, Bustle, Shondaland, CNN.com, Kirkus Magazine, Vulture, Bookpage, USA Today, Bookish, Bookriot, and more!
Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. No matter how hard she strives to do right, her life always goes horribly wrong. So she’s given up trying. But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding (someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. It's time for Eve to grow up and prove herself - even though she's not entirely sure how....
Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car - supposedly by accident. Yeah, right.
Now his arm is broken, his B&B is understaffed, and the dangerously unpredictable Eve is fluttering around, trying to help. Before long, she’s infiltrated his work, his kitchen - and his spare bedroom. Jacob hates everything about it. Or rather, he should. Sunny, chaotic Eve is his natural-born nemesis, but the longer these two enemies spend in close quarters, the more their animosity turns into something else. Like Eve, the heat between them is impossible to ignore...and it’s melting Jacob’s frosty exterior.

In search of self and finding more! 🙌🏿😍
Another brilliant story about the Brown's sisters by Talia! I was not ready for all that these two offered! Jacob and Eve were hilarious, swoony, emotional and all the steam of attraction!
Ione Butler was amazing with the narration! She brought this story to life.
Their banter was everything but so were their ability to wear their love and affection out loud. I loved these too.

Not as expected?
So the story was pretty predictable, the character is cute and I like her self discovery and it’s somewhat relatable to interacting with people you might not understand due to their personality differences.
Here’s where it went sideways for me, I wasn’t expecting the level of pornographic description in at least 3 chapters worth of explicit sex scenes. Newer to audible it comes across differently to listen to than when reading and I just think it should be in the notes when choosing the title. I wasn’t offended it was just a lot and I didn’t expect that level of description of sex acts etc.
to me I would think that there should be something to indicate there are graphic sex scenes so the reader is aware. Also it seems a bit disjointed, yes there is some scatological humor earlier on but the tone changes quite drastically 2/3 of the way in when the characters get down and dirty. Almost like 2 different books.

Didn’t anticipate the obsession with blunt sex references
I picked this up after all the reviews and Oprah’s recommendation, but this is apparently my first rom-com. I wasn’t anticipating a harlequin novel, but I’d compare it to that.
I really liked every single character Hanberg creates, and I loved the first third when Eve and Jacob first interact.
I lost interest when the book became a constant narrated-character-thought plot of “does she/he want me / I want to jump her/him”.
It’s a lovely book for its genre, and Hibbert is creative, sensitive, and a lovely writer. It just isn’t the genre for me.
Narration: superb!

I respect Hibbert's work, but it's not for me
This is the third book I downloaded and heard on Audible by this author. I found the bantering between the couple humorous and I enjoyed the character, Eve, out of the other two heroines Id read in Hibbert's other books I read. But I still find my mind wandering with the ramblings and recollections that went on in this book. There wasn't enough action and sequence of events going on in this to keep me fully entertained. I wish that I liked this more than I do, but this style of storytelling doesn't grab my attention for the majority of the time. What's funny is that I felt the opposite about Hibbert's other book, "Wanna Bet"; while I didn't really care for the characters in that book, the writing went along to where I was able to stay engaged with the story.

Absolutely adorable couple
One of the cutest RomCom's I've read in the past year. I really like the "subliminal" message in this romcom. It's all about people learning to accept themselves as they are, find the good and strengths within and allowing oneself to be vulnerable so as to be loved. Everyone has their little place in the world never mind their flaws or other's expectations. So true and so sweet.
I'm a fan of Talia Hibbert, I must say.
In this particular story, I love the fact that the female lead is hefty but has no issues about her body and knows herself to be absolutely adorable and attractive. The male lead is attracted to her. She's not desperately trying to lose weight, her body is no issue, actually, it's an asset in all of its round glory, which is absolutely refreshing in this day and age where being overweight or simply round is still "a inofficial cardinal sin".
If you're into light romance that ends gleefully on a possible HEA with well-built characters and some real life pathos, and have a taste for high-functioning autistic male leads, well then, this is the book you. Jacob is absolutely endearing and so is his girl.

Talía never disappoints!
I adore these characters so much it hurts! Eve is a lovable, well-meaning, bit of a mess (at times), who is struggling to figure out how to adult successfully. Jacob is a thundercloud of a misunderstood man with a gigantic unicorn heart that has been bruised in the past. Their story is one of unexpected friendship after immediate disdain that ultimately develops into mutual respect and love. I am always a fan of Talia’s neurodiverse characters and, as usual, she has done an amazing job expressing differences in people who are similar in so many other ways. I appreciated the cameos from the rest of the Brown family (and extended family) and I’m sad to think this is the last book we will get from this world. Hopefully we get a spin-off series with Mont and his sisters (fingers crossed) 😊.

Another delight from Talia Hibbert
The Brown sister books are such a wonderful escape. Filled with all the wonderful tropes and lack of realism that the best escapist romances have, but with just that little something extra that adds depth and meaning to each one. I really enjoyed every single one. Eve is a lovable mess and I loved her story.

Age Appropriate Indeedy!!!
I was full of anticipation for this story and it did not disappoint. It was full of cheer, joy, lighthearted fun, squabbling, sarcasm and very hot sex...just what I like.
In fact, of all the three Brown sisters, Eve was the most relatable to me. Certain aspects of her character I recognized and this understanding made her all the more adorable.
Jacob Wayne was stoic and used to his own way of doing things. However, he was able to allow the ray of sunshine that was Eve into his life, his B&B and most importantly into his heart. He was funny and his relationships with his mates and aunt just made him more lovable because who couldn’t love a brooding control freak with a heart full of love for those he cared about.
For the record, communication was the key with these two and one really shouldn’t go around assuming they know what someone else is thinking or feeling.
Ione Butler’s narration was so excellent. She embodied the characters and brought such life to them as she interpreted Talia’s written words from the description of Eve’s braids to the ducks.
Throughly enjoyed this book!
