Publisher's Summary

A haunting memoir of one woman's survival of childhood abuse and neglect. After All… is an inspiring story of how faith and a grandmother's unconditional love gave young Maria the strength to survive a loveless home and, incredibly, showed her the path to forgiveness.

The memoir traces her journey from poverty in rural Portugal to a full and happy life in Canada.

After All… is an inspiration of perseverance, courage and forgiveness.

Heartfelt

I found parts of this bookTo be amazingly frank in her storytelling. Maria the author has a great deal of compassion and forgiveness that others would find very hard to forgive and forget. The book is a journey through a young girls difficult life. How she overcame the many obstacles and survived to be a good person.
How many people do you know that blame their lives for their childhood. They did not have the courage to move on and grow like Maria did.
